A pace band works as your wristband running guide by displaying kilometer-by-kilometer split times on the left side and cumulative elapsed times on the right side. To use it effectively, simply glance at your watch when you pass each kilometer marker, comparing your actual time to the target times shown on the band. For a race measured in kilometers (like a 10K, half marathon or marathon using metric measurements), the band would show splits at each kilometer (1K, 2K, 3K, etc.) rather than miles. The goal finish time shown at the bottom serves as your target, while the band helps you maintain the precise pace needed throughout the race to achieve that time, preventing you from starting too fast or falling behind your goal pace.
